Love of God -Sarah (3/23/2014)

How do we feel and know the love of God?

Ask to know he is there. Where we are today is not where we will be tomorrow. We are constantly making choices, either bringing us closer to God or further away. God allows us to go away from him to feel his absence, so that we know what we are missing. Take some of the world away and add a little more of the spirit in.

We have all these things pulling us in different directions, but if you take all that away, you have to know who you are, because those things are not who we are. Financial burdens, work, dishes, community events, etc.

If we didn't have trials, we wouldn't know the Lords hand in our lives because we wouldn't need anything.

"We should give Jesus the wheel. He is a way better driver than we'll ever be!" -Sarah

We when are feeling overwhelmed, we are spending too much time with the world and not enough time with the Lord.

"Seek and Qualify for the Spirit" - Stake Relief Society Presidency (Ward Conference 3-9-14)

3 Nephi 19:9 "And they did pray for that which they most desired; and they desired that the Holy Ghost should be given unto them."

We all understand the gift of the Holy Ghost, but do we really understand it in our hearts? When we receive new callings, we must rely on the spirit to help us fulfill that calling and to give us the revelation we need.

God wants us to return to him and he knows we can if we listen to the promptings of the Spirit.

Alma 57:21 "Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them."

They obeyed with exactness. Are we taking our covenants as seriously as they did? Lets all take it up a notch. Draw closer to the lord and he will draw closer to you.

Take a step toward Christ. He wants to pour His spirit upon us. What can we do to come closer to him?
- Go to the temple. Make it part of your life.
- Improve prayers. Get out of bed and on your knees. Say them after you have gotten up and awake.
- Read scriptures while eating breakfast instead of reading the newspaper or Facebook.

Heavenly Father is right there. Whenever you see a pitcher, remember he wants to pour his spirit upon you.
